Brett Cohen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of JGB Management Inc., a Westport, Connecticut-based investment firm he founded in 2005.

Brett graduated summa cum laude from Columbia College in 1993 and from Yale Law School in 1997. He then moved to New York City and joined Elliott Associates as a full-time analyst. There, he helped build out the firm’s private credit business and was later promoted to portfolio manager.

In 2005, Brett founded JGB with one employee. Over more than two decades, the firm has grown conservatively and now employs 10 people across two offices. JGB provides private credit capital to companies that may not otherwise have access to traditional bank financing. Its investments have supported businesses across a wide range of sectors, including clean energy, cancer research, heart transplant diagnostics, real estate, and satellite launch services.
